About Counter & Cupboard
Counter & Cupboard started with a simple frustration: most kitchen gear advice online is either a 4,000-word list of forty products nobody has touched, or marketing copy wearing a review costume.
We do it differently. Every guide on this site answers one real question people actually ask about their kitchens and homes — cast iron or nonstick? is a stand mixer worth it? which pantry containers survive real life? — with a clear recommendation and honest reasoning. We keep guides short, update them when our opinions change, and tell you when the cheap option is the right one (it often is).
How we test
Everything we recommend has spent real time at a working kitchen counter: weeknight dinners, weekend baking, the occasional smoke-alarm incident. We care about how gear performs on day 300, not day one — how it cleans, how it stores, and whether it keeps earning its spot.
How we make money
Some links on this site are affiliate links, including links to Amazon. If you buy through them, we earn a small commission at no additional cost to you. As an Amazon Associate, Counter & Cupboard earns from qualifying purchases. Commissions never decide what we recommend — our picks are the same ones we'd text a friend.
